Lawrence Brittain has always had a deep passion for woodwork and craftsmanship. While competing full-time for the South African National Rowing Team and pursuing his Olympic dream, he found balance in creating pieces from his garage. After achieving his goal of earning an Olympic medal, the transition from water to wood—and into custom carpentry—felt like a natural next step. Lawrence went on to acquire Simply Divine Carpentry, channeling his discipline and drive into growing the business. As the company expanded, the need for additional leadership became clear. Charles Stevens joined the team, bringing extensive experience in both high-performance sport and business leadership. He integrated seamlessly into the company, and together they now lead SDC with a shared commitment to hard work, precision, and excellence.

Today, Simply Divine Carpentry continues to evolve. With the opening of a new branch in the Western Cape and the growth of a dedicated in-house design team, the company is able to offer a more comprehensive, collaborative experience. Their mission goes beyond craftsmanship—they aim to work alongside each client to bring their dream home to life, delivering projects that truly feel like something out of a dream.
